Station 1

Station 1 is located on State Route 142 near Lakeside, and houses the Department's Administrative Offices, as well as a small response crew.  The station was constructed in 1971 and is up for renovation or replacement soon.

This station houses offices for the Chief, both Deputy Chiefs, the Battalion Chiefs, the Fire Prevention Division, the Maintenance Division, the Training Division, and the Administrative Division.  The Public Information Officer also works from this Station.

Station 1 houses a crew of 2 Firefighters that are trained to respond to all manner of incidents;  medical, fire, water rescue, ice rescue, etc.  It is a unique company in the county.

Apparatus based at Station One include:

Squad 1:  2009 Ford/BME Rescue:  this unit has a 500 GPM crossmount pump, 300 gallon tank, and 20 gallons of Class A foam.  It carries equipment for water and ice rescue, as well as first response medical calls, and wildland fires.  It is staffed fulltime by two FF/EMT-P's.

Engine 1:  A 1990 Pierce Dash pumper with a 1250 GPM Hale Pump, 750 gallon tank, and basic equipment for firefighting.  Engine 1 is the Department's Reserve Engine, ready to fill in when another piece is down, or to be utilized on larger incidents.

Marine 1:  Boat, stationed at Catan pier, west of Lakeside proper.

Fleet 1:  Fleet 1 is a 2008 Ford F-550 with a utility body and crane.  The Department employs 1 full time mechanic, and 1 part time mechanic to maintain the Department's fleet of vehicles.

Station 1 also houses a number of administrative vehicles operated by the Chiefs and officers based here.  They are as follows:

Car 1:  2008 Subaru Outback shared by the Chief and Deputy Chief of Operations.
Car 2:  2007 Subaru Outback shared by the Deputy Chief for Support and Support Staff.
Car 3:  2009 Subaru Outback used by the Battalion Chiefs.
Car 4:  2005 Toyota 4Runner shared by Support Staff.
Car 5:  2007 Subaru Outback used by Fire Prevention personnel.
