Station 2
Station 2 is located in Legochester on Stud Avenue. It was built in 1932, and is the oldest station in the Department. It has seen extensive upgrades and is a well loved piece of the community.
This station is one of the four staffed stations in the Department. The primary response district of Station 2 includes all of Legochester, Route 302, and the Brick River Parkway, a limited access highway crossing the mountains. Station 2 is also the nearest station to Alpine Airport, which has its own crash truck. The apparatus here frequently respond to assist our mutual aid partners to the east and west. Station 2 is the most heavily staffed Station in the Department and houses the following apparatus:
Engine 2: A 2007 Sutphen Monarch Rescue Pumper with a 1500 GPM Waterous pump, a 700 gallon water tank, and 25 gallon cells of both A and B foam. This Engine carries a full complement of firefighting equipment, along with extrication equipment in the form of Holmatro pump, cutter, spreader, and ram.
